Two Beers Brewing Trailhead ISA featured on Serious Eats!
Great news! Serious Eats selected Two Beers Brewing Trailhead ISA as this week’s focus of their “One Big Bottle” series. Serious Eats, a national foodie blog, recently introduced the “Drink” section to their website and is a great resource for reviews of beer, wine and spirits from all over the country.
So what did they have to say about the Trailhead ISA?
I’ve been on a bit of a session beer kick lately. The heat and humidity have burned off most of my desires to drink anything high-gravity. But not wanting to be weighed down doesn’t mean I want to sacrifice on flavor, and Trailhead ISA (India Session Ale) from Seattle’s Two Beers Brewing Co. packs it in.
The hazy gold beer’s aroma is big and dank with a hint of grapefruit, courtesy of liberal dry-hopping with pot-like Columbus and citrusy Cascade hops. Trailhead heaps a tremendous amount of woody and resiny hop flavor on a relatively slender honey malt frame—it’s just 4.8% ABV.
The writer, Jonathan Moxey, suggests pairing a Trailhead ISA with barbecue chicken or a long hike. We agree.
