Beer + Chocolate: The perfect Thanksgiving pairing

Recently, Kendall and Kim of the Washington Beer Blog hosted yet another knock-out event: Craft Beer + Chocolate. On the heels of their also sold out Craft Beer + Food event, this event featured chocolate-infused beer – as well as one of their standard beers – from eight breweries paired with a variety of Theo chocolate. Two of my favorite things in one great place! Unfortunately, I was unable to make this fantastic event as we were prepping for the grand opening of Two Beers Brewing’s new tasting room.

If you were like me and we’re unable to make it (or score a ticket), you’re in luck. Seattle magazine did attend the event and has shared some of the pairings so you can try them for yourself at home. Here are their top four suggestions:

  • Black Raven’s Mole Brown Porter + Theo Milk Salted Almond
  • Fremont Brewing’s Abominale + Theo Coconut Curry
  • Georgetown Brewing’s Lucille + Theo Orange
  • Two Beers Immersion Amber + Theo Dark Toasted Coconut

They all sound great, but I’m a bit partial to the Immersion Amber and Dark Toasted Coconut chocolate pairing. We’re having people over for Thanksgiving dinner and this will make for the perfect dessert – can’t wait to give these pairings a try!
