New Client: Frolik Kitchen + Cocktails Opens April 2013!

I’m excited to finally be able to announce my newest client! Frolik Kitchen + Cocktails will be opening in just over a month in the heart of Downtown Seattle on the fifth floor of the Red Lion Hotel Seattle. Offering “happy evening” (aka great happy hour deals from 4-10pm!), craft cocktails, local beer, an outdoor patio, shuffle board, ping pong and more, it’s like an adult Disneyland and I seriously cannot wait for it to be open.

And it looks like I’m not the only one. Seattle media has definitely taken an interest:

So, come mid-April, you’ll know where to find me when that bell rings at 5pm (maybe 4pm, depending on the day). Read more about Frolik Kitchen + Cocktails in the press release below:

DOWNTOWN SEATTLE (March 20, 2013) – Opening April 2013, Frolik Kitchen + Cocktails – the new restaurant and bar set to open at 1415 5th Avenue – will soon unveil a dining experience unlike any other, inviting guests to come out and play. Located in the heart of Downtown Seattle, Frolik shakes up the traditional approach to dining and socializing with a lust and vigor for exposing Seattle to a fresh way to mingle and amuse the senses. Guaranteed to become a happy hour hotspot, Frolik combines modern décor, flexible dining options—including a quick stop for lunch and take out—and inviting open spaces with fresh, fun libations and inventive fare. Guests are encouraged to leave their troubles behind as they engage in shuffleboard and Ping-Pong, and enjoy the fireplaces and views of the Puget Sound – which promise to unleash the youthful side in all of us.

“Our goal with Frolik was to offer a truly innovative approach to cocktailing, eating and socializing,” said Carrie Dietz, Director of Fun at Frolik Kitchen & Cocktails. “With creativity and innovation at the forefront of each dish, cocktail and design element, Frolik creates an energy in and of itself that can’t be duplicated. From a cozy conversation in the lounge, to a business meeting, to cocktails with friends on the outdoor deck over a lively game of shuffle board, there is truly something for everyone, and Frolik welcomes all to enjoy.”

Located on the fifth floor of 1415 5th Avenue, occupying the space of what was once the Terrace Garden Restaurant, Frolik is a 127-seat bar and restaurant located above the hustle and bustle of the street below. Accessible via the private entrance on 4th Street or through the spacious lobby of the Red Lion hotel, elevators will carry guests to an unexpected playful haven where they can leave their inhibitions behind.

Under the direction of Pioneer Square-based Ankrom Molsan Architects – known for its ability to create spaces where people and communities thrive – the vibrant design behind Frolik offers a revitalized energy and playful demeanor unlike any other. Floor to ceiling windows are framed by a 24-foot cocktail bar offering panoramic views of downtown and the beautiful Puget Sound. The space’s contemporary modern ascents and scenic surroundings are further complemented by an array of comfortable couches, open spaces and flexible seating, making Frolik a dynamic experience ideal for groups large and small. For the warmer months, elevated five stories above the hustle-and-bustle of downtown Seattle, the 4,000-square foot outdoor patio at Frolik offers an atmosphere all its own. Here, Frolik encourages its patrons to “play with their food” through its lighthearted atmosphere and games such as shuffleboard and Ping-Pong. Combined with comfortable couches and fireplaces, the unique juxtaposition of elements offered at Frolik make it the perfect place to relax during lunch or after a long day of work.

When it comes to the menu, Frolik shakes up the traditional approach to Regional American food by adding a signature Northwest Pacific flair to every dish. Start the day with breakfast options including a crab benedict with potato leek hash and pistachio brioche french toast, or stop in for lunch on the patio and enjoy delicious fare such as curried chicken salad with dried apricot or a turkey apple brie panini. Evening offerings include a selection of nibbles and sharables – including smoked salmon deviled eggs, pancetta wrapped asparagus and duck confit flatbread pizza – plus delicious dinner fare including chipotle chicken sliders, crab mac & cheese and more. Complementing Frolik’s flavorful menu are eight local taps and a regional wine list, plus a selection of unique handcrafted cocktails, developed by award-winning bartender and mixologist Michael McSorley.

Frolik Kitchen & Cocktails will be open daily from 6am – 10pm for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with grab-and-go options available at the Frolik counter throughout the day. A all-evening happy hour menu – featuring a rotating selection of $4 specialty cocktails, $4 draft beers and house wine, $5 shareable plates and more – will be offered daily from 4-10 pm, with an extended dinner and drink menu available through the evening. Use of shuffleboard courts and Ping-Pong tables will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.
